Top-ranked Rushmore shuts out All-Stars


HURON — Cameron Ritter had three goals to lead top-ranked Rushmore to an 8-0 victory against the Huron All-Stars on Saturday night at Bergman Arena.

Using goals by Carter Kirk, Ritter, Mason McGregor and Wyatt Reeder, the Thunder took a 4-0 lead in the opening quarter.

Ritter then earned a hat trick with a pair of goals in the second period to boost Rushmore’s lead to 6-0.

Capping the scoring for the Thunder with goals in the third period were Layne Jensen and Damien Pongklub.

Rushmore, which improved to 16-1, unleashed 45 shots against Huron goalie Jack Bales and he stopped 37 of them.

The All-Stars, who are now 3-14, managed just 16 shots on goal, with Wyatt Simmons recording the shutout for Rushmore.
