Work will shut down Dakota Ave north of railroad tracks

HURON –– On Friday, May 9, the contractor will be working on utility work completion and placing storm sewer across Dakota Ave. at Second St. N.. While the work is underway, Dakota Ave. will be closed from Third St. N. to south of Second St. N. Dakota Ave. will remain open from Market St. to just south of Second St. N. This work is anticipated to last approximately two weeks. Traffic on Dakota Ave. will be fully restored once the utility and storm sewer operations are complete.
A signed detour will be in place during these operations directing motorists to use Third St. S., Lincoln Ave., and U.S. Hwy. 14.
The prime contractor for this $19 million project is BX Civil and Construction, Inc. of Dell Rapids, SD. The overall project completion date is October 2025.
