HURON — Tickets are on sale for the season opener of the South Dakota State Fair, the Red Wilk Construction CBR Bull Bash held in front of the grandstands at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds Aug. 30-31 in Huron.
Led by bull riding icon, Tuff Hedeman, the CBR has kicked off the South Dakota State Fair Grandstand line-up since 2005, and the nation-wide professional bull riding tour known as the Road to Cheyenne is headed back to the Midwest with two action packed performances on Friday and Saturday night.
CBR will bring 24 of the best bull riders in the country to Huron and pit them against the top bulls on tour to kick off their 2017-18 Road to Cheyenne nationwide televised tour, and for the thirteenth consecutive year CBR selected the South Dakota State Fair as their first event of the new season.
You won’t want to miss this year’s competition as two of the top ranked bull riders in the world are CBR riders. The reigning PRCA and CBR World Champion Sage Kimzey and the rookie who made his professional bull riding debut in Huron last year, Boudreaux Campbell, are at the top of their professional careers and fans will have the rare opportunity to see these extraordinary cowboy athletes who are currently trending in the rodeo industry.
“Kimzey, a rare talent who rides fundamentally flawless, has won over 2 million dollars since becoming professional just a few years ago, and he has the heart and determination of a champion every time he pulls his rope,” said Tuff Hedeman, the 4 time World Champion bull rider who now produces the nationally televised Road to Cheyenne Tour events.
