HURON — The Heartland Region United Way Day of Caring took place Tuesday throughout Huron. Volunteers, easily identifiable with their bright yellow Day of Caring t-shirts, completed multiple projects around town from a new “positivity hopscotch” at Ravine Lake and repainting the path at Winter Park to landscaping at Salvation Army even to a bed build hosted by Sleep In Heavenly Peace at Meyer Auction’s building on Custer Ave.
Volunteers also helped to paint a Habitat for Humanity house and remove trees at Riverside Cemetery while a crew took to the streets to pick up debris for the citywide cleanup and haul it to the drop off site at the fairgrounds.
