HURON — The United Way Heartland Region Board of Directors announces the close of the 2025 campaign after raising $278,000 to help 40 programs in Beadle County.
“This year’s goal of $278,000 was an ambitious one,” said Jen Bragg, United Way executive director. “For the past two years, our fund drives have come up just short of our campaign goal. It looked like we were headed in the same direction this year, but an estate gift left to us recently helped make all the difference. We are happy to announce that we are able to close out this year’s campaign at 100% of our goal, and 100% funding to our partner agencies in the community.”
The Board of Directors and each of the 19 partner agencies, thank the community for their support to the work and mission at the United Way.
“We work every day to connect resources that are out there with the needs that we know exist in our community, to help improve lives and advance the common good for everyone in the Heartland Region,” Bragg said. “The programs supported by the United Way affect everyone in our region — men and women, young and old. Partner programs span our population from those learning to read, to those purchasing their first home. Funds help provide a hot meal for senior citizens, and provide school children in need with food for the weekend, among many other things.
“All of these needs, big and small, are important. We know that by making sure these needs are fulfilled, a life can be changed,” Bragg added. “Donors like you are vital to helping us respond to our community’s needs, assist our neighbors, and improve lives right here. Your gifts don’t just support us at United Way; they support our entire community through the work of these crucial programs.
“Each of us alone can make a difference for a neighbor — but when we come together, we can make change for all. Thank you to our donors for helping us reach so many with these important programs, for helping us live united!”
