Warner sweeps W-W

WOLSEY — Wolsey-Wessington gave Warner everything it could handle in the opening two sets, but it the end, it was the No. 1-ranked Monarchs emerging with the sweep.

Warner pulled out 27-25 and 28-26 wins to build a 2-0 lead in the match. The Monarchs then rolled to a 25-11 victory in the third set to claim the match.

Kyleigh Schopp and Kyra Marcuson  each had 14 kills for the Monarchs (6-0). Lauren Marcuson was perfect on 17 serves.

Lauren Marcuson also led Warner with 20 digs, while Reagen Wood had 21 assists.

Kailynn Dorris went 24 of 31 hitting and finished with 13 kills for Wolsey-Wessington. Lainey Uttecht added 11 kills on 28 of 30 hits.

Lainey Uttecht was also 12 of 12 serving for the Lady Warbirds, while Shae Uttecht was 11 of 11 serving. Kendal Uttecht racked up 13 assists on 38 of 38 sets, while Payton Kemnitz was 47 of 48 setting with seven assists.

Shae Uttecht and Lainey Uttecht finished with 15 and 14 digs, respectively. Samara Clemente had six blocks and Tatum Luce had three blocks.

Wolsey-Wessington plays at De Smet today.
