Huron golfers compete in Watertown invite

WATERTOWN — With five of the top eight golfers, Watertown edged Pierre for the team title during the Watertown Invitational on Tuesday at Cattail Crossings Golf Course.
The Arrows finished at 292, while Pierre recorded a 295.
Harrisburg was third at 306, followed by Watertown Purple at 314 and Mitchell at 318.
Huron was 13th at 423.
Asher Dannenbring of Mitchell won in a playoff to claim the top spot with a score of 71.
Also shooting scores of 71 were Pierre teammates Nick Bothun and Sawyer Sonneschein, who were second and third, respectively.
Jake Olson of Watertown was fourth at 72, while teammates Kaden Rylance and Johnny Lake carded scores of 73.
Aiden Zavesky led Huron with a 95, which put him in spot No. 64.
Rounding out the lineup for the Tigers were Jack Bales at 100, Jace Bales at 11 and Kolton Ogle at 117.
Huron will close the regular season at the Eastern South Dakota Conference Meet on Monday at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton.
