WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Carter Wells from James Valley Christian and Wessington Springs’ Jaycee Hohn took the boys’ and girls’ individual titles, respectively, at the 281 Conference Golf Meet, held Tuesday at the Wessington Springs Country Club.
No team titles were awarded at the meet.
Wells and Max Ring of Highmore-Harrold each shot 39 over the nine-hole layout, with Wells taking medalist honors via a scorecard playoff.
Zachary Hofer from JVC was third, Trevor Olson of Sanborn Central-Woonsocket took fourth and JVC’s Richard Rink was fifth on the day, after all shot 41.
Hohn held off AbbyRose Miller of JVC for the girls’ medalist honors on the day. Hohn shot 50, with Miller a shot back at 51.
Keah Munsen from Wessington Spirngs was third with a 52, one stroke ahead of Kate Schmit of Sanborn Central-Woonsocket and Zoe Tvedt of Highmore-Harrold, who were fourth and fifth, respectively.
The junior varsity boys’ medalist was Nick Snedeker of SC-W with a 45, Cheyenne Burg from Wessington Springs took the junior varsity girls’ title with a 51 and Wessington Springs’ Jacob Messmer shot a 39 to take the junior high boys’ medalist honors.
