KIMBALL — Wessington Springs will be the fifth seed for the Region 3B Amateur Baseball Tournament, which begins Saturday in Kimball.
The Owls, who finished the regular season at 7-8, will battle fourth-seeded Colome (7-8) in the opening game of the tournament at 5 p.m. Saturday, with the winner advancing to play top-seeded Four Corners (11-4) at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Third-seeded Plankinton (8-7) will face sixth-seed Chamberlain (2-13) at 7 p.m. Saturday, with the winner advancing to play second-seeded Kimball/White Lake (10-5) at 5 p.m. Sunday.
The losers of the opening round game will meet in an elimination game at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The tournament will move to Chamberlain for the final three days on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
