HURON — Current Huron School District School Board member David Wheeler has announced that he is running for re-election for the board in the spring election.
In announcing his bid for reelection, Wheeler said, “It has been honor to serve on the school board for the past six years. I’m proud to be a part of a great school system.” He continued, “While I have been on the board, we have made tremendous strides to improve public education in Huron. We have reduced staff turnover, we provide our students with the latest technology, and we are leaders in the state in our service to our ESL students.”
Wheeler was first elected to the school board in 2012 and was re-elected in 2015. He served two years as board president and currently serves as the board vice president.
Wheeler was born and raised in Huron and graduated from Huron High School. He has been practicing law for more than 11 years and owns Wheeler Law Office. He and his wife, Kristin, have three children.
The school board election is scheduled for April 10.
