SIOUX FALLS –– Jory Wipf, head boys’ soccer coach with James Valley Christian School, was recognized by the South Dakota High School Coaches Association (SDHSCA) as the organization named its coaches of the year for fall sports.
Wipf led the Vikings to a 12-5 record before falling 3-2 in the Class A championship to Vermillion. He did so with a JVC roster that did not have a single senior.
The only other area coach who was nominated was Brandee Kelsey of Wolsey-Wessington for cheer. Sioux Valley’s Casie King was the selection.
Also recognized were Robyn Murphy, Yankton, dance; Hailee Fischer, Harrisburg, girls’ soccer; Stephanie McCord, Kimball/White Lake, girls’ cross country; Ralph Kroetch, Philip, boys’ cross country; Pat Ruml, Howard, football; and Erica Ferdahl, Dell Rapids, volleyball.
