There will be music in the air this summer — so join your family and friends in the historic district downtown and enjoy live entertainment at the band shell in Campbell Park.
That was the message from Lisa Wolf, organizer of the 2024 Campbell Park Thursday Night programs, when she spoke at the Beadle County Democratic Forum on Monday night.
Along with great local entertainment, they will find food vendors and a food truck. Music and food! Who could ask for more!
This year-long job of assembling the programs for the summer is organized by Wolf and committee members, Rhonda Hofer and Kimberly Ronzino. Wolf’s involvement with the committee started many years ago when her father, Roger Kasa, launched the programs and she assisted him. Soon she was on the committee and in about 2012 she became fully involved as leader.
Starting off the season at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, the Elks will present a flag-raising ceremony followed by a brat and burger feed. To get your feet set for toe-tapping for the season, Full Gallop will be performing from 7 to 8 p.m. At 8 p.m., the Band’s Mission Essential Brass Group (part of the 147th National Guard Band) will be a special treat for the season. Mark your calendar! The Huron City Band will perform most nights.
The committee is always looking for anyone to entertain at the Thursday night band shell programs and suggestions are always appreciated. This year they did a great job of finding singers along with guitar players and those with other instruments to entertain. Wolf invited everyone to “come on down,” find a bench and enjoy the evenings.
