The Jan Manolis Family Safe Center Bags Baubles and Bears fundraiser will be Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Plains. Jeannie Hofer, Kendal Braa and Diane Thomas, advocates for the center, stand with some of the donated items to be auctioned that night. Among items will be a cooler with a bottle of Cinnamon Roll Vodka and Tropical Punch Vodka, a teddy bear cake, a 5-by-7-foot area rug in shades of brown and certificates for homemade caramel rolls and carrot bars.
One popular item will be getting behind the actual controls of a plane during a half-hour Discovery flight with an instructor. This flight takes place from the Mitchell airport. There will also be bids for half of a fully processed hog, as well as pontoon rides around Lake Byron, and a diamond ring that must be seen to be appreciated. There will also be beautiful purses and bags of all shapes and colors — you will be excited to see everything that will be offered. Tickets may be purchased at the JMFSC office by calling 554-0398 or at Rainbow Flowers or A-l Body Shop. The 24-hour hotline numbers are 350-6663 or 350- 6690.
