Zavesky leads Tigers in Brookings

BROOKINGS — Aiden Zavesky shot an 88 to lead the Huron boys’ golf team during the Bill Scholten Invitational on Monday at the Brookings Country Club.

Zavesky finished 62nd for the Tigers. Rounding out the lineup for Huron were Kolton Ogle at 102, Riley Jankord at 107 and Jack Bales at 122.

Jake Olson of Watertown won the event with a 68, while teammate Ty Lendards was fourth at 72.

Sawyer Sonnenschein of Pierre was second with a 71, while Charlie Swift of Harrisburg was third with a 72.

Hayden Scott of Harrisburg rounded out the top five with a 73.

Watertown claimed the team title with Harrisburg finishing two strokes back in second. Rounding out the top five were Pierre, Tea Area and Mitchell.

Huron will participate in the Mitchell Invite at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
