Estelline/Hendricks 3, De Smet 0
ESTELLINE – The Estelline/Hendricks Redhawks swept the De Smet Bulldogs by scores of 25-17, 25-20, and 25-10 Thursday in Estelline.

The Redhawks move to 14-5 behind 17 kills from Kenzy Beare. Sadie Johnson set the E/H attack with 24 assists and also had 19 digs and three aces.

Hazel Luethmers led De Smet (9-8) with 10 kills and six blocks.

The Bulldogs travel to Lake Preston to battle Iroquois/Lake Preston on Monday.

Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0
MILLER – The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots swept the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders in 281 Conference action Tuesday at the SBA Event Center by scores of 25-11, 25-16, and 25-15.

The Lady Patriots were led by Ella Johnson’s serving, going 19 of 20 from the service line with seven aces.

H-T moved to 9-11 behind Recca Huizenga’s nine kills. Presley Binger and Gracyn Bixler split setting duties, with Binger tallying 14 assists and Bixler totaling 13.

The Crusaders fell to 2-13. Kennedy Keck was 4 of 5 serving with a pair of aces.

Both teams will participate in the 281 Conference tournament Saturday in Wolsey.


Highmore-Harrold 3, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 1
HIGHMORE – The Highmore-Harrold Pirates dropped the first set, but fought back to pull out a 281 Conference win over the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks Tuesday in Highmore by scores of 22-25, 26-24, 25-14, and 25-23.

The Pirates move to 6-11 behind Brooke Palmer’s 14 kills and Reghan Westcott’s 10 kills. Kendall Cermak was 15 of 16 serving for H-H with four aces. Brooklyn Baloun set up the Pirate offense with 31 assists and also was 19 of 21 serving with a pair of aces.

The Blackhawks drop to 5-10 despite a strong overall game from Kenna Ochsner with 16 kills, 21 digs, and three aces. Kailynn Eggleston added eight kills.

Both teams will participate in the 281 Conference tournament Saturday in Wolsey.

Miller 3, Chamberlain 0
MILLER – The Miller Rustlers moved to 16-1 on the year with a road sweep of the Chamberlain Cubs.

Set scores for the Rustlers were 25-10, 25-11, and 25-14.

Ruby Carder had a strong serving match for Miller, going 10 for 10 from the service line with four aces. Jaden Werdel was 14 of 14 serving with a pair of aces while leading the Rustler hitting attack going 17 of 19 on the attack with eight kills.

Tyra Gates keyed the Miller offense with 29 assists while Jolie Palmier led the defense with 19 digs.

The Cubs fell to 4-10. No individual statistics were available.

The Rustlers will participate in the Redfield Fall Classic Saturday.

Northwestern 3, Redfield 0
MELLETTE – The Redfield Pheasants were swept on the road by the Northwestern Wildcats, ranked third in Class B in the most recent media poll, in Mellette on Tuesday.

Set scores for the Wildcats were 25-18, 27-25, and 25-20.

The Wildcats move to 14-8 behind 17 kills, 16 digs, and four aces from Ella Haven. Ashley Haven added 16 kills.

Brooklinn Halvorson set up the Northwestern offense with 34 assists.

The Pheasants fell to 10-6 despite seven kills and three aces from Gracie Fast. Katie Rozell added seven kills and had three blocks.
