HURON — As the state continues in a slow, but steady, increase in COVID-19 cases statewide, the current hospitalization number for Beadle County hit a high for the year in Monday’s report from the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH).
Monday’s DOH report showed the state with 415 new positive cases, four new deaths, and 366 new recovered cases. This bumped the active cases up to 6,865.
Beadle County added eight new positive cases and 10 new recovered cases, which lowered the active cases in the county by two to 96.
The DOH report did indicate two added to the county’s “currently hospitalized” tally, which brings the total to five, the most that have been actively hospitalized for the virus in the county in of 2021.
The Heartland Region reported 15 new positive cases on Monday along with 19 new recovered cases across the seven counties in the region. Active cases in the region were down slightly, to 192.
