HURON — The board of directors for the Huron Community Foundation (HCF) remind groups and organizations that the window for submitting grant applications for the upcoming funding session begins Feb. 15.
The application period will run through March 15 this year.
“We appreciate the many donors who make this possible along with The Craig Matthesen Fund, the Wheeler Family, Entwisle Family, Mencke Family and Schiltz Family for creating the sub funds under the auspices of HCF,” said Steve Gohn, board chairman.
The HCF grant application, which is used for the various family funds and the WINGS Foundation grants, is available on the HCF website or from the Huron Chamber and Visitors office at 1725 Dakota South.
Grant guidelines are available on the website as well, and explain both the Foundation’s priorities and process.
For more information, contact an advisory council member or email hcf@huronsd.com.
After downloading, completing the application and saving it to your computer, email is the preferred method of delivery, however mailed applications will be accepted.
Mail completed applications to HCF Grant, 1725 Dakota Ave. S, Huron, SD, 57350.
Applications must be received - either email or regular mail - no later than March 15.
Among the organizations receiving grants in the past are The Huron Area Senior Center Nutrition Program, The Salvation Army Food Pantry and the Heartland Region Backpack Program.
More recently, in the wake of the 2020 COVID pandemic, the Foundation provided funding for the House Rehab Program, and the Beadle COVID Rental Assistance Program, and assisted 29 local businesses through the Small Business Recovery Loan Program.
