HURON – In a ceremony attended by members of the public, Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) staff and administrators, and members from the various partners that are working with HRMC to complete the project, the Physicians Clinic expansion and medical imaging remodeling projects celebrated a kickoff Monday morning.
HRMC president and CEO Erick Larson spoke about the impact of the $14.9 million total project, as it will bring state-of-the-art facilities and more medical personnel to Huron. Larson cited providing quality health care as vital to a healthy, growing community, as Huron aspires to be.
The expansion of the clinic will add a second story to the Physicians Clinic, and multiple members of the HRMC board, HRMC Foundation board, and the expansion board each signed a beam that was lifted and put into place to begin construction on the Physicians Clinic expansion.
The work across the street at the southeast section of the main hospital building will add new MRI and 3D mammography units to the facility, among other improvements.
The goal of the project is to be completed summer 2022.
