HURON — The South Dakota State Fair is excited to announce the Red Wilk Construction Tuff Hedeman Bull Bash is returning to the State Fair grandstand on Wednesday, Sept. 1, and Thursday, Sept. 2.
This action-packed event marks the annual kick-off of the South Dakota State Fair featuring two nights of high-energy, family-friendly fun.
A pioneer in the sport of standalone bull riding, four-time World Champion and Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer Tuff Hedeman has been producing bull riding events for eighteen years, giving the fans what they want every time - great rides and high scores.
Hedeman formed the Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour after serving for 23 years as the former head of the two nationally organized professional bull riding organizations (PBR and CBR). Hedeman retired from the sport in 1999.
The Red Wilk Construction American Hero Award will be held during the bull riding both nights. Since 2013, more than 100 Veterans from all over South Dakota have been honored. Typically, eight Veterans are honored each night.
Ticket presales begin May 24 for Friends of the Fair VIPs, June 14 for backrest holders, and June 17 for Friends of the Fair. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on June 21. For more information on presales and ticket sales go to www.sdstatefair.com.
