Area players named to All-DVC basketball teams

ELKTON — Several area basketball players received honors in the Dakota Valley Conference.

Senior George Jensen of De Smet was named to the first team of the All-DVC boys’ team while seniors Kadyn Fast and Tom Aughenbaugh were named to the second team for the Bulldogs.

Earning honorable mention were senior Britt Carlson of De Smet and senior Josh McMasters of Iroquois/Lake Preston.

Junior Trevon Beckman of Dell Rapids St. Mary was named as the Most Valuable Player, while Paul Raasch of Castlewood was slected at the DVC Coach of the Year.

Sophomore Hazel Luethmers of De Smet and junior Adison Moore of Iroquois/Lake Preston were named to first team on the All-DVC girls’ team.

Sophomore Hadlee Holt of Iroquois/Lake Preston was named to the third team, while sophomore Megan Dylla of De Smet and senior Faith Steffensen of Iroquois/Lake Preston received honorable mention.

Junior Addalyn Steffensen of Arlington was selected as the girls’ MVP, while Tara King of Arlington was named Coach of the Year.
