HURON — Three area basketball players will participate in the 2024 South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association and the Sanford Pentagon All-Star Games, which will be held April 19 at the Pentagon in Sioux Falls.

The boys’ game is slated for 6 p.m., with the girls’ game to follow at 8 p.m.

George Jensen of De Smet will play for the White team in the boys’ game.

Also playing on the White team will be Jason Winger of Dakota Valley; Lane Tietz of Groton Area; Braeden VanBockern of Harrisburg; Kolt Koepsell of Howard; Porter Ihnen of Lennox; Jackson Schauer of Faith; Maxwell Engebretson of Sioux Valley; Hayden Goff of Sioux Falls Roosevelt; Tyson Stevenson of Hamlin.

Playing for the Blue boys’ team will be Alec Squires of Sioux Valley; Nicolas Marshall of White River; Gavin Soukup of Mitchell; Matt Anderons of Canton; Daniel Mitchell of Gregory; Jacoby Mehrman of Harrisburg; Dylan Rawdon of Watertown; Lane Tvedt of Castlewood; Tage Ortman of Canistota; and Layne Cotton of Faulkton Area.

Coaching the White team will be Kyle Courtney of Rapid City Christian. He will be assisted by Cody Lawrence of Timber Lake.
Coaching the Blue team will be Ryker Kreutzfeldt of Mitchell. He will be assisted by Cole Knippling of Parkston.

Hamtyn Heinz of Huron and Avery Orth of Wessington Springs will play for the White girls’ team. They will be joined by Emilee Fox of Mt. Vernon/Plankinton; Abby Aslesen of Howard; Katie Vasecka of Tea Area; Skylar Volmer of Lyman; Lilly Klein of Flandreau; Ava Lingemann of Ethan; Paige Kjerstad of Wall; and Reese Terwilliger of Pierre.

Playing for the Blue girls’ team will be Mahli Abdouch of O’Gorman; Claire Sheppard of Flandreau; Caylin Kelly of Florence/Henry; Sawyer Stoebner of Mitchell; Maggie Taylor of Hill City; Megan Reiner of Tripp-Delmont/Armour; Courtney Sees of Avon; Mara Grant of Tea Area; Jaidyn Dunn of Sioux Falls Jefferson; and Abby Flanagan of Harrisburg.

Jon Brooks of Vermillion will coach the White team, with Tyler Husby of Colman-Egan assisting. Tucker Tornberg of Centerville will coach the Blue Team, with Dave Brooks of Mitchell assisting.

Admission will be $10 for adults and students.
