HURON — Governor Kristi Noem was the headline speaker at Tuesday night’s Beadle County Lincoln Day dinner, presented by the Beadle County Republican party and hosted at the Huron Event Center.
Noem, who is seeking re-election, was one of a host of candidates who were presented to the large crowd in attendance, as those seeking county, district, state and national office introduced themselves and made a short campaign pitch.
Noem spoke of being humbled and grateful for being allowed to be the governor, and asked those in attendance for their continued support.
When asked about being a possible running mate for a return by former President Donald Trump, Noem said that right now, “nobody wants to go to Washington; it’s such a mess,” but noted that there is nobody in the Republican party capable of defeating the former president, should he decided to seek re-election.
