HURON — The Huron School Board held a brief special meeeting at noon Tuesday, with three items on the agenda.
After accepting the resignation - at the end of the school year - of teacher and assistant track coach Michael Schmitz, the board made a motion to go into executive session on a personnel matter.
After a short discussion, the board re-convened and approved a motion to terminate para-professional Tayah Schraut, at the Buchanan K-1 Center, for breach of contract.
When asked for details regarding the dismissal, district superintendent Dr. Kraig Steinhoff declined to comment, citing that it was a personnel matter.
