“Slow your roll, so you don’t hit people in the construction zone!”

That is the great message created by Ian Estrada, a 4th grader at Holy Trinity Catholic School. He and his classmates entered their artwork in a contest to promote Work Zone Safety Awareness, and Estrada’s work was chosen to be made into a billboard on Highway 14 west of Huron.

This week, Jared Gusso of SFC Civil Constructors was at HTCS to present Ian with his award. The campaign is put on by the Department of Transportation, the Associated General Contractors of South Dakota and the organization’s members. Over 500 entries were received.
