Bull Bash, Big Air return to 2022 State Fair

HURON — The South Dakota State Fair welcomes the Red Wilk Construction Tuff Hedeman Bull Bash, as well as the ATV Big Air Tour  back to the S.D. State Fair Grandstand for this year.

The Red Wilk Construction Tuff Hedeman Bull Bash kicks off the 2022 South Dakota State Fair grandstand lineup with two nights of high energy fun on Channel Seeds Preview Day, Wednesday, Aug. 31, and Thursday, Sept. 1, the opening day of the State Fair.

Tuff Hedeman is known for lining up elite riders to face off with world-class bucking bulls.

This professional, fast-paced bull riding competition returns to the South Dakota State Fair to feature pro bull riders and bullfighters matched to animals of superior strength and fiery spirit.

The Red Wilk Construction American Hero Awards are held each night of bull riding. Typically, 10 veterans are honored each night. Since 2013, more than 300 veterans from all over South Dakota have been honored.

On Sept. 5, the ATV Big Air Tour, sponsored by American Bank & Trust, will bring laughs, screams, and excitement to the grandstand with freestyle 4-wheelers, motorcycles, and BMX for an epic afternoon of free, family-friendly fun.

Created by Pro ATV rider Derek Guetter, this national touring show will thrill you with their amazing talent, big jumps, giant backflips, revving 450cc engines, crowd games, good music, and lots of free goodies throughout the afternoon.

Presales begin on June 6 for those eligible for the Friends of the Fair VIP table presale, followed by backrest holders and Friends of the Fair ticket presales.

General public ticket sales will begin June 21. Admission to the ATV Big Air Tour is free.

Friends of the Fair is a program through the State Fair Foundation offering a variety of benefits including early bird access to State Fair VIP table sales, presale access to grandstand reserved seating and standing room tickets for the State Fair, complimentary daily gate admission passes, and recognition on the fair website. The backrest program is an advertising program allowing businesses or individuals to put signage on a backrest in the grandstand.

Backrest signage holders can purchase South Dakota State Fair grandstand tickets for their corresponding signage area prior to general and Friends of the Fair ticket sales. Presale information can be found on www.sdstatefair.com.
