IROQUOIS — Kali and Madi Burma, Kenna Dickson, Kera Dubro, and Wyatt Rigge, members of the Sunday school at Immanuel Lutheran, rural Iroquois, dropped off items at the Salvation Army food pantry.
The youth started at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 8, east of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and 80-plus miles later, they finished in Huron around 7 p.m., collecting from over 30 church families.
They also went shopping at Coborn’s with their Thrivent Action Team card along with monetary donations from their church family. They had fun keeping track of every item that they picked up to earn scavenger hunt points so they, as a group, can try and beat it again next year. They collected more this year than they have in any of the past seven-plus years that the youth have been doing this project.
