HURON — Huron city commissioners worked through an abbreviated agenda on Monday, but that did not mean they did not address multiple upcoming important items.
Commissioners set a public hearing date for Dec. 23 to consider a lease of office space by J and M Pizza, Inc. This hearing will take place at 5:30 p.m.
Commissioners also:
• Approved a Consumption on Public Property Permit for Christian Antezana for December 16 at Nordby Hall
Set auction date of January 14 at 1 p.m. for live auction of surplus goods from the former Water-Sewer Maintenance Shop, to be auctioneered by Meyer Auction
Approved sale of six surplus culverts at the price of $25 per culvert
The city commissioners also read into minutes the schedule from the Solid Waste Department regarding holiday schedule:
“The Solid Waste Department will be closed on the following days: Tuesday, Dec. 24 at noon; Wednesday, December 25; Saturday, December 28; and Wednesday, January 1. All residential garbage and recycling routes will run as scheduled on normal route day. REMINDER: Christmas paper, gift bags, and plastic bags are NOT recyclable. Please place these in your brown container. Any questions, please call 353-8542.”
