DE SMET — A back-and-forth game all the way saw the Deubrook Area Dolphins take a hard-fought 73-69 victory over the James Valley Christian Vikings in Region 2B action Tuesday in De Smet.
The Vikings led at the end of the first quarter 20-16 but a big scoring quarter in the second for Deubrook put them out front, and the Vikings couldn’t get the big shot at the end to potentially send the game into overtime.
Deubrook moves to 11-10 and will face De Smet in the Region 2B semifinals tonight in Huron.
The Dolphins were led by Jacob Jorenby and Colton Trooien with 15 points each. Gavin Landmark chipped in 13 for Deubrook.
The Vikings finished the season at 11-10 despite 21 points from Jerrad Wallman.
Freshman Davis Chase bucketed 20 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.
Dax Frandsen added 10 points for JVC.
