This drop box was installed on Thursday, March 4, at the memorial by City Hall. This is a receptacle for worn and retired flags to be collected by the Boy Scouts. The Boy Scouts do flag burning ceremonies for retired flags.
Huron Welding donated their time and materials to fabricate and paint the box as well as install the box for the Elks No. 444 in Huron. Mark McDonald with First Class Design created the design wrap. Other parties involved are the Boy Scouts, VFW and American Legion. There will be a full dedication of the Flag drop box at a later date.
Pictured from left, are Cody Palmquist and Joel Wold, both with Huron Welding, and Jeremy Jungemann with the Huron Elks No. 444. Not pictured is Steve Zobel with Huron Welding.
