HURON — Kayla Harvey went 2-1 for the Huron girls’ tennis team during a quadrangular on Saturday at Huron Courts.
Harvey’s wins at No. 3 singles came against Aberdeen Central and Brandon Valley and were the only victories of the day for the Tigers.
“Kayla Harvey had a great day at No. 3 singles,” Huron coach Leah Branaugh said. “She was very close to beating the Mitchell girl as well.”
Aberdeen Central and Brandon Valley got past the Tigers 8-1, while Mitchell recorded a sweep with a 9-0 decision.
“We had several other matches that were close and could have went either way,” Branaugh said. “The girls need to work on closing out matches which will also come with experience.
“The girls have done a better job of moving their feet and getting into correct position on the court,” she said.
Huron is now off until hosting another quadrangular at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Huron Courts.
