PIERRE — The Huron Tigers boys’ tennis team split a pair of matches Thursday against Lennox and Rapid City Christian at Griffin Park in Pierre.
The Tigers opened with a tough matchup with Rapid City Christian, falling by a score of 8-1. The number three doubles team of Matthew Thin and Say Poe was able to come away with Huron’s only victory, 10-7.
Huron then followed up with an 8-1 victory over Lennox, sweeping all three doubles matches, including a dominant 10-0 win for Thin and Poe.
Huron coach Tim Hedblom was very pleased with his team’s effort overall.
“The boys played hard against a very good Rapid City Christian team,” Hedblom stated. “The boys played extremely well against Lennox. Lah Doh Soe played probably his best match of the year, earning a tough win against Eli Plank.”
The Tigers are back in action at a quadrangular today in Brookings.
