Quotes from Head Coach Mitch Gaffer:
“We’re off to a slow start this season due to busy schedules, and we’re behind in getting our new people prepped and up to speed, but we’re slowly improving,” said head coach Mitch Gaffer. “We’re seeing better scores in the speech events and, although we are not getting winning overall records in debate yet, we’re starting to get wins and improve our cases for the next tournament.
“This is a team with a lot of potential,” Gaffer added. “With time and hard work, I think we can get back into the top three in the CFC. We finished fourth last year, ending the 31 year first/second streak. This group can get back to the top if they work hard and commit to getting better each weekend.”
The team takes Thanksgiving weekend off. After the break, the team will travel to the State Interp Festival held in Watertown on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 30-Dec. 1.
