Andrea Estrada, right, and Ira Sarvis won first- and second-place awards in the 2021 South Dakota State Fair Essay Contest for third and fourth grade students. Students were given the writing prompt: “What I Love Most about S.D.”
Each student in Amy Honomichl’s fourth-grade classroom at Holy Trinity Catholic School chose and researched a place in South Dakota that they loved. Andrea’s first place essay was about Mount Rushmore and Ira wrote about his family’s visits to Palisades State Park.
