Huron tennis team competes at Aberdeen Invitational

ABERDEEN — The Huron Tigers tennis team won one match and dropped two Saturday at the Aberdeen Invitational. Huron dropped matches to Milbank and “AA” power Rapid City Stevens, but pulled out a 5-4 win over Rapid City Central at the event.
Against Stevens, the Raiders showed why they are among the top teams in the state. RC Stevens shut out Huron 9-0. The Tigers claimed a pair of wins against Milbank, but dropped the match 7-2 to the Bulldogs. Winning games for Huron were Audrey Rubish, who posted a 10-0 win over Rhianna Cantine at the No. 2 singles slot, while Hte Say held on to defeat Alexis Ninneman 11-9 in extra time at the No. 6 singles spot.
“We got the win over Central,” said Tiger coach Rachel Kary. “We had some great play at both the singles and doubles levels in all our matches today.
