Two brothers — Leland Iverson of Doland and Delmar Iverson of Huron — received the R.O.C. Mutual Defense Commemorative Badge during a ceremony held Aug. 14 in Pierre, which included Governor Dennis Daugaard and S.D. Dept. of Veterans Affairs Secretary Larry Zimmerman. The Mutual Defense Badge is presented to personnel involved in the defense of the Republic of China (Taiwan) between 1958 and 1959. The Iverson brothers both served in the U.S. Navy during that time period.
