“My goal is to continue to build my herd. This Simmental will be shown and then will be released into the pasture with my other heifers. The steer will be shown and then sold to a family. I enjoy taking photos and will participate in the photography project area again this year. Last year was my first year in the Market Goat project area. It was fun to learn how to take care of a goat.”

And on the right, Kaitlyn Micheel, an eight-year member of the Pearl Creek Boosters, drew this French Abbey as part of a school book report.

“4-H is all about teaching youth the life skills that are needed when we graduate from high school. Throughout the 4-H year, which is Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, I and the other youth are able to learn and apply real time experiences, including this one in the Visual Arts project area. I participated in the Photography project area and exhibited photos that I took while away in Denver, Colorado for a STEM camp.
“Last year I decided to learn about a new species, goats. Along with beef and swine, I have also shown in the rabbit project area.”
