HURON — With three of the top 11 golfers in the field, Sioux Falls O’Gorman edged Brandon Valley for the team title during Huron Invitational held Thursday at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
The Knights finished with a score of 331 to top the 11-team field. Brandon Valley was second at 334, followed by Aberdeen Central at 336, Harrisburg at 348 and Pierre at 355.
Huron was ninth in the final standings with a score of 378.
Liz Duncan of Brandon Valley earned the medalist honors, shooting a 4-over-par 76, while Reese Jansa of Harrisburg was second at 78. Emmy Sundby of Rapid City Stevens was third with a 79, while Ashley Zimmer of Mitchell, Cassidy Gough of Aberdeen Central and Sophia Salter of Sioux Falls O’Gorman shared the fourth spot with scores of 80.
Helping the Knights clinch the team title were Janna Sutcliffe, who was seventh at 82, and Shannon McCormick, who had an 83 to share the eighth spot with Sydney Wirebaugh of Aberdeen Central, Halle Gronlund of Pierre and Masy Mock of Mitchell.
