HURON — The Huron Federal Employees observed the 16th anniversary of September 11 —“Patriot Day” — by inviting all federal employees for a flag raising ceremony Monday in front of the Huron Federal Building.
Members of the National Guard HHC 153rd Engineering, SPC Taylor Jans and 1LT Jeffrey Marshall, raised the flag in the ceremony.
Bev Helm, who works with Western Area Power Aministration, welcomed everyone, reflecting on the events that occurred 16 years ago and how it has affected the nation.
“Remember the past, but don’t let it keep us from our future,” Helm said. “This date serves as a reminder of our support for our flag and country.”
