Phyllis N. Wenz, 83, of Vilas

VILAS — Phyllis N. Wenz, 83, of Vilas, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, October 16, at Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard. Burial will be 1 p.m., Monday in Rest Lawn Memory Gardens at Huron. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Phyllis Naomi Smith was born September 24, 1934, at Calwood, Mo. to Burton and Ellen (Miller) Smith. The family moved to Iroquois when she was 10 years old.
She was united in marriage to Edward Wenz October 12, 1952, at Huron. The couple lived and farmed for a while south of Huron, south of Iroquois and  Canova before settling in Vilas in 1977. She was active in the community, enjoyed gardening, sewing and loved to cook and bake for anyone, especially her family, as she would always put on a feast.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Marita) Wenz of Vilas, Kyle (Jackie) Wenz of Mitchell, Nancy Wolf of Alpena, Kathy (Scott) Bandy of Dallas, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia (Tom) Augenbaugh of Tehachapi, Calif., and Dorothy Dory of Springfield, Mo.; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; siblings, Nadine, Jean, Lucille, Glenn and Winston.
