HURON — The Rapid City Stevens Raiders crossed the state Saturday and returned to the Black Hills with the team title in the Huron Invitational.
Stevens shot a team score of 307 to edge Watertown by six strokes. S.F. O’Gorman was third with 317 and Yankton shot 319 for fourth. As a team, the Huron Tigers had a team score of 335, putting them eighth in a tightly bunched field.
Brock Murphy of Tea Area fired a three-under 69 to take medalist honors. Michael Frick of Yankton was second with a 73 and Lucas Schaefbauer was a shot back in third. Stevens’ top finishers were Payton Shares in fourth and Ben Daane in fifth, as they shot 74 and 75, respectively.
