FORESTBURG — Third-seeded Sanborn Central-Woonsocket pulled away in the third quarter and held on for a 45-38 victory against No. 6 Colman-Egan in the quarterfinals of the Region 4B Tournament on Tuesday.
Megan Poyer and Tesa Jensen each had 16 points to lead the Lady Blackhaws to the victory. Kaylee White added eight points.
Poyer also had a team-high nine rebounds and three assists for Sanborn Central-Woonsocket. Abby Vermeulen also had three assists, while Trinity Boschee had three steals.
Braiden Westley was the lone player to reach double figures for Colman-Egan with 11 points. Mackenzie Hemmer had 10 rebounds, while Elizabeth Moore had two assists and Madison Voelker had five steals.
Sanborn Central-Woonsocket, which improved to 15-6 will face second-seeded Hanson in the semifinals at 8 p.m. Thursday at Huron Arena.
