Schneider announces retirement from AB&T
Posted
HURON – American Bank & Trust Chief Executive Officer Lynn Schneider has announced he will retire at the end of December.
Schneider’s career in banking and finance has spanned 46 years, beginning in 1971. All but two of those years were in Huron.
For the past 16 years, he has served as chief executive officer of American Bank & Trust.
“I have enjoyed building many great and lasting friendships with employees, customers and local citizens over these years that I will always cherish,” he said.
“Having been particularly involved in lending over that period gave me the opportunity to build banking relationships with second and even third generation customers,” Schneider said.
“But it is time to move into the next chapter in life, and I am excited to see what new experiences will come my way,” he said.
Born and raised on a small farm in Beadle County, he said it has been a special privilege to have enjoyed a long career in his hometown, along with his wife, Gloria, who was also raised on a Beadle County farm.
“The Huron area and central South Dakota region have treated me and my family very well and for that we will always be grateful,” Schneider said.
“It has been a special honor to work with the Steele family and Preston Steele in his role as chairman of the board of directors of American Bank & Trust,” he said.
