BROOKINGS — The Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles swept the top two positions to edge out the Sioux Falls O’Gorman Lady Knights by one stroke for the team title at the Brookings Invitational held Thursday morning at the Brookings Country Club.
O’Gorman’s top four players all placed in the top ten positions. Following Aberdeen Central’s first and second place players, were the Lady Knights in third, and tied for fourth, sixth and tenth place. Aberdeen Central also tied for sixth, while the fourth player tied for 29th, which resulted in the Golden Eagles total of 323 strokes and the Lady Knights with 324.
In third place, the Mitchell Kernels came in with 345 strokes, followed by the Pierre Lady Govs, who also missed the cut by one stroke at 346.
While the Huron Tigers did not field enough players to place in the competition, Karlie Bigelow tied for position 20, while Bryn Huber tied at 46 for the Tigers.
