We Found Sound to present Spring concert

HURON — The Huron Fine Arts Center will be the place to be April 14 and 15, as We Found Sound presents its 14th Annual Spring Show, “Listen to the Music.”
Discount advance tickets are available at American Bank and Trust, as well as Farmers and Merchants Bank through April 13, for shows that will take place at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., both Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15. Tickets will also be available at the box office prior to each show.
We Found Sound is a Huron Community showchoir, made up of more than 60 members. The group rehearses weekly Sunday afternoons at the WFS Studio, located in downtown Huron. In addition to its annual spring show, We Found Sound also presents a Christmas show and performs at other community events, such as the Salvation Army Christmas Basket program.
“Every Sunday for the past 12 weeks the kids have come together to sing, listen to music and work on the show,” said Katie Scheibe, co-director of We Found Sound. “It is so much fun, watching these kids develop their love for music and their passion for performing on stage.”
Some of the songs on the program this spring include “I’ve Got the Music in Me,” “All That Jazz,” “Dance to the Music,” “Eye of the Tiger,” and many more. In addition to the Minor (younger performers) and Majors (the older members of We Found Sound) the group’s Dance Troupe and White Glove Crew will perform as well and there will be a Junior/Senior Ensemble.
“When I’m listening to music, all the cares in the world just disappear,” said co-director Kristi Kattner. “Music is my refuge. I love that I can share this experience with these kids every week!”
“The kids’ energy is contagious,” Scheibe said, “which is a good thing because sometimes Kristi and I need some of their energy to keep us going on Sundays!”
The group will be saying goodbye to a quintet of senior performers this spring, including Alissa Gauer, Jadayah Luellman, Harlee Hofhenke, Matthew Larson and Abby Pyle.

WFS Senior Member Quotes:
Alissa Gauer from Huron High School.

“I will miss the people and all the positive energy that comes out during our rehearsals. I love making music and being surrounded with people who have the same passion as me.  No matter what mood I am in when I get to rehearsal, I always leave in a good & positive mood.  It is also super cool to see what new ideas Kristi & Katie can come up with for our shows.  I am always amazed how they pull everything together and put on a professional show every time.”
This will be Alissa’s 19th show she has performed with WFS. She is the daughter of Wayne & Denise Gauer

Jadayah Luellman from Huron High School.
“What I will miss the most is the family bond you develop between everyone.  I enjoy the backstage shenanigans with everyone during the shows.  My favorite thing is the love everyone has for each other in WFS.”
This will be Jadayah’s 14th show she has performed with WFS. She is the daughter of  Dawn Luellman.

Harlee Hofhenke from Iroquois High School.
“What I will miss the most is spending my Sundays at the studio practices with everyone.  I enjoy singing, dancing, and making new friends.  A few of my favorite things are the final week rehearsals and Show performances on the weekends.”
This will be Harlee’s 20th show she has performed with WFS. She is the daughter of Mark and Larica Hofhenke

Abby Pyle graduated in December from Huron High School.
