YANKTON — It was announced Thursday that Yankton’s Matthew Mors was second as the 2019-20 Gartorade South Dakota Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year. He is now a two-time winner of award, which was handed out for the 35th time this year.
The award recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the court. Mors is now a finalist for the Gatorade National Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year Award.
Mors, a 6-foot-7, 225-pound junior forward, led the Bucks to a 17-4 record and the Class AA quarterfinals at the time of the selection.
