WATERTOWN — Watertown scored the first seven goals en route to an 8-2 victory against the Huron All-Stars during their season opener on Friday.
The Lakers scored twice in the opening period and then added six goals in the second period en route to the win.
Ethan Busch had the opening goal for Huron in the second period on an unassisted shot.
An unassisted goal by Grady Bott capped the scoring in the third period for the All-Stars.
Watertown recorded 34 shots in goal in the game, while Huron had 15 shots on goal.
Jack Bales inked 26 saves in the net for the All-Stars.
Huron will make its home debut on Friday, with an 8 p.m., game against Aberdeen at Bergman Arena.
Devin Hunter opened the scoring in the game with an unassisted goal for the Lady All-Stars.
Kylee Small also had a goal on a pass from Hunter in the opening period for Huron, but Watertown was able to carry a 3-2 lead into the second period.
Small would find the net twice in the third period for the Lady All-Stars to earn the hat trick. The first was assisted by Hunter, with the second assisted by Shelby Timm.
Also scoring goals in the final period for Huron were Small on an assisted shot and Alexis Rashaad on a pass from Small on a power play.
Avelia Colon recorded 14 saves for the Lady All-Stars. Huron finished with 28 shots on goal.
In the season opener against Brookings, the Lady All-Stars came up on the short end of an 11-2 decision.
Both Huron goals came in the third period. Juliana Goethel scored on an unassisted shot and Hunter scored on a pass from Rashaad.
Colon inked 21 saves.
The Lady All-Stars, who are now 0-2, will host Aberdeen at 6 p.m. Friday at Bergman Arena.
