To the Editor:

October 1-7 is National 4-H Week. My name is Hannah Schoenfelder, I am 16 years old and this is my 9th year in 4-H. I have learned many life skills through 4-H. I enjoy being able to try different project areas and learning what can be made and exhibited in these areas. There are so many different project areas, it is easy to find an area that would be of interest to you.

One of my favorite areas is Community Service. I enjoy making people smile and making a positive impact on the community. I am involved in a multitude of community service organizations such as UNICEF and United Way. I enjoy volunteering at the senior center making crafts.

I want to help make our community a better place to live in and to challenge others to do the same. If you are interested in becoming a 4-H member or a leader that helps 4-Hers, please call the Beadle County Extension office at 605-353-8436 and they will be able to answer any questions you have and help you find the club that is right for you.
