The Huron High School Speech & Debate Team traveled to Central Forensic Conference (CFC) tournament No. 2 at SF O’Gorman. After two of three CFC tournaments, Huron has moved up in the conference standings from sixth to fourth.
“We had a lot of illness strike the team this weekend,” said head coach Mitch Gaffer. “We had illness drops before and during the tournament. The coaches are happy we we’re able to advance as much as we did in the standings, but sickness did hurt our ability to have a strong team performance.”
CFC standings after the first two tournaments are:
1 — Brookings (276)
2 — SF Roosevelt (268 points)
3 — Yankton (223)
4 — Huron (174)
5 — SF O’Gorman (161)
6 — Harrisburg (154)
7 — Tea (114)
