HURON — Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery in which traffickers use force, fraud, or coercion to control victims for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or labor services against his/her will. Unfortunately, nearly every form of human trafficking has been found in South Dakota and is becoming a growing concern for our youth.
One way to prevent human trafficking is by raising awareness.
Tonight are the final two informational presentations for parents, offered at 5 and 6 p.m. at Huron Middle School. Each presentation will last approximately 45 minutes in length and cover what human trafficking is, identify how traffickers target their victims, and how to find help.
