IROQUOIS — LaVaye Dubro, 84 of Iroquois, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Sandford (USD) Medical Center in Sioux Falls surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, July 20, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Iroquois with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron with a prayer service at 7 p.m.; or visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
LaVaye Tibbetts was born January 26, 1933, in Huron to Donald and Ruth (Clement) Tibbetts of Bancroft. She graduated from Bancroft High School 1951.
She was united in marriage to Lowell Clark Dubro December 27, 1951. She had been the director for the S.D. National Pre-Teen and Petite Pageants. In 2009, she received the Spirit of South Dakota Award.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Lonna (Mike) Wilson of Tea, and Leah (Mark) Gath of Luverne, Minn.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; siblings, LaVerne (Twila) Tibbetts of Blue Earth, Minn., Charlene Danilko of De Smet; sister-in-law, Brenda Tibbetts of Sioux Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laurie; siblings, Marjorie, Donald and Craig Tibbetts; and brothers-in-law, Harvey Hoffer, and Ed Danilko.
